Slimmer of month ???

Hi all

How is slimmer of month decided ??:D

Have you seen that episode in the original Star Trek series, where Spock and Kirk are forced to fight in a big ceremonial circle, with huge blade-tipped poles?

I'm pretty sure it isn't decided like that.

It's the person who's lost the most weight over the month. We have 2 classes tuesday night , but they only have one winner which I reckon is abit rum!

Do they take into consideration whether it's your first month? Or whether it was straight losses (i.e. no gains or STS)? x

LOL!!!!! :8855:

I have no idea how it's decided because our consultant, lovely as she is, doesn't seem organised enough to ever do it. I've been going since October and we've never had a Slimmer of the Month...

Really??? At my first group the prize was a 6 week countdown AND food vouchers for a local supermarket!!! Ask her!!!

P.S Never won it and never bothered to find out how it works cause there are so many others who go who kick my tushy each week lol x

I might ask her this week. I help out at class anyway (I do all the stuff on the computer and weighing people). If she isn't organised enough, perhaps I could help her with that.

Computers?!?!?! What?!?! How high tech is your group!!! Haha! We're in a teeny little theatre and it's literally paper and desks! Swanky! :) xxx

Basically, it's who ever has lost the most that month, and if it's your first month, then your first week's loss is halved (so if you lost 3lbs in week one, it'll be counted as 1.5lbs).

And say you lost 6lbs one week and gained 0.5lbs the other weeks so had an overall loss of 4.5lbs, you might beat someone who lost 1lb every week as their total would only be 4lbs. (This is in a 4-week month of course ;))

Natt xxx

I think eventually all classes will go computerised. We're issued with 'smart cards' and the card first goes into a reader attached to a laptop, and it brings up the person's details and how much they owe for the class, and you click 'paid' and then the card goes into a little hand held reader/computer thing which is linked to the scales. Your weight goes to the reader, and it says how much you've lost (or gained) and if you've won the next award (like your stone or 1.5 stone, etc). The consultant then talks to everyone around the room based on the info in that little hand-held computer. It's really good. :)

Cor blimey sounds awesome! We're very much behind the times then! I bet we'll be one of the last to switch as a relatively small group :)
