Original 1 week down - success!! I love SW!

Well I did it. I survived my first week on the SW diet having been on WWs forever, and I must say I am impressed. I was dubious on my first day (to say the least), looking at all the free food you could eat - meat, veggies, fruit, yoghurts - and I thought to myself - you will NOT lose weight on this diet - but since the WW diet was turning me into a boring sod who constantly obsessed about food - I always seemed to be hungry for some reason - I thought what the hell.

I am so glad I did and this forum has helped me no end - especially in my first few days.

I've been doing the diet myself at home, but needed the directory so I went to a class last night - which wasn't too bad - but the class doesn't have a permanent leader - to my horror, the leader told me that the potatoes I've been having all week as my HEs Bs should have been cooked and eaten in their skins and the plain rotisserie chickens I've been getting from somerfield should be sins! As a result I thought I wouldn't lose any weight - but I weighed myself this morning and I lost 6.5lbs - I am shocked. I haven't been gorging myself - in this heat I don't feel that hungry - but even so 6.5lbs! All the time I was on WW the most I lost in 1 week was 5lbs and I was serious ravenous all the time too. With SW if I'm hungry I can have a yoghurt or some lovely cold fruit. It's heaven. My only regret is not starting this diet sooner - but better late than never!

So, if anyone is undecided and is reading this - please consider doing this diet. It doesn't feel like you're dieting at all rather that you are making sensible decisions.

Good luck to anyone starting this diet and a BIG thank you for all the support from the lovely people on this forum over the last few days.

PS: if anyone has the SW website password, can you pass it on... :-}

Well done on your first weeks loss Huni!!!
Be really proud of it and dont loose that feeling, it will help you when temptation is put in your way.

6.5lbs in week 1 = AWESOMNESS!!! You'll get your 1/2 stone award next week if you stay on track! Well done!!!

Woo!!!

Thank you everyone! I know I can't expect to lose that kind of weight every week, but I just hope I'm not too dissapointed when I lose less next week.

Well done on your fantastic loss, so glad your enjoying the plan.

As for the password, we aren't allowed to pass it on due to copyright reasons, but since you attended class last night, I'd contact the person's name in your book and ask them for it.

Congratulations, well done on your weight loss this week, SW really is the best and I am an ex WW'er too, but now I am completely converted to SW.

Well done to you, thats a brilliant loss and im glad your enjoying the plan x x x

The spuds should have skin on if they're HEx (for the fibre!) but don't see as it'll make an almightly difference. I totally agree with Fern about the chicken, the rotisserie means the fat comes out and so long as you remove the skin i would say. You can't have done too much wrong as you have had a great loss this week. Well done :)

the chicken isnt free because they inject it with fat, they discussed it at our class i think it may be in the book but the syns was quite high for something you think is free

but if that's the case isn't it the same for uncooked chickens to bulk them out? I'm soo confused and I love my cooked chicken - rotisserie especially - you get to enjoy the food without actually cooking it :D

Thanks Chuffy... I'm wondering about this too... I think I will carry on as per last week. I had jersey royals last night in their skins and they tasted like dirt eventhough they'd been scrubbed - was horrid. I'll buy charlottes in the future though as I like them in their skins.

Regarding the chicken, the leader mentioned about stuff injected in the chickens to bulk them up, but in that case surely all fresh chickens are the same except for organic or free range? So, I think i'll carry on eating rotisserie for another week and see what my weight loss is next week and will report back.

What a result, you aint doing much wrong to loose that in a week, keep up the brilliant work and I'm really pleased you are enjoying doing the plan and are no longer hungry lol. xx

thank you! Just been trying to sell the SW diet to my OHs mother - though without much luck I think :-(

Hey

I started last week too and lost 6 lbs at my weigh in on Monday. It was a fab feeling wasnt it ???

I think it will take me a few weeks to get it all right but I think the main thing for us is that we are starting to change our eating habits. A few mistakes along the way will be ok too...

Lots of luck and look forward to keeping up with your progress

xxx
