Hi :)

Hopefully should be joining you next week, Dr is putting me on Xenical but I've had to lose 10lb first (I've lost 9lb got another to go which I'm hoping to lose this week)

I've been doing a low carb/meal replacement diet to lose the weight I've lost so far (its taken just over a month) but I don't know if I'll be able to carry on with this once I start the pills, or if I'll just go onto a low fat and good carb diet (i.e wholegrain etc)

I'm a bit confused about the pills, the dr said i'd have to eat fat for them to work.. but how much fat do you have to eat?... is it the amount of a scrape of butter or more then that?

Thanks :)
xx

Hi, well done on the loss so far.

The tablets works on the fat we eat. If we don't eat fat there is nothing for the tablet to work at.

It is recommended you eat no more than 15g of fat per meal (that's ALL fat, not just saturates) and 45g per day. But try to spread out the fat per day - try not to have none at all then 45g in your evening meal.

Also you need to try to stick to a rule of 5g of fat per 100g of food for all you eat. If you go over this you could (and probably would) suffer the side effect of orangey oily poo.

Hope this all helps.

Good luck :D
