My son's Christening tomorrow...

with a reception thing straight after the Christening

Luckily everyone knows I'm doing CD so it shouldn't be a problem.

BBQ on the evening too... I didn't manage to get any Quorn and I can't be arsed to go out now, so it'll have to be chicken breast. Which is allowed, just not as much. Add some salad, and I'm sure there'll be crispy veg so I should do ok.

Wish me luck :D

Good luck but have a wonderful day most of all.

Good Luck, have a wonderful day x

Reporting in...

I think I managed to do pretty well! In a day I'd normally have:

CD porridge, CD soup, chicken breast, greens, fruit, tea/coffee, water

I had my porridge as normal but no fruit. I forgot to take a CD meal with me to the do afterward as we rushed out, so I had a skewer with chicken breast and some crispy veg from the dips (no dip though), some raspberries. Then at the BBQ I avoided meat altogether, had two corn cobs from the BBQ (no butter...) plus some more crispy veg and salad, and some strawberries. I drank plenty of water and resisted temptation to pick at all the yummy stuff :D

So I probably had more carbs than I should have done today, but calorie-wise I think I've done ok, so back onto a regular track tomorrow.

Well done, sounds like you made some excellent choices and avoided the temptation, well done for staying strong and I hope you had a wonderful day....

Glad you enjoyed your day (or should that be your sons day)! My sons getting christened 3 weeks today, really looking forward to it as lots of my friends are coming and havent seen them for a while.we're having a bbq after church too, haven't decided what Im doing re. food yet but will be having a small bit of fruit cake as its the top teir from our wedding cake and not just any old frit cake (although it is old, 3 years old! )

Well done Lunar Jim, it is so difficult when the food is there and tempting you isn't it! At least you made some good choices and so what if you had more carbs than planned, it is after all one day and a good day at that by the sounds of it! I'm sure it won't alter your weight loss this week and if it does, there is always next week :)

It was soooo difficult, at the buffet they had duck spring rolls which are a personal favourite.

Then and the BBQ there was the usual meat, plus a large tapas with delicious meats, olives, mozzarella with sun dried tomatoes, chorizo dips, etc. etc. And Eaton Mess for pud, which I nicked a load of strawberries first. That tapas was the trickiest, it looked lovely...

Jim... I really do admire your restraint and dedication. It would be all too easy to just "give in" on a day like that especially when it's a special day for your family! I hope that you had a wonderful memorable day xx

Thanks all. Yes we had a brilliant day; the star of the show was really good all through the day, though he was naughty and stayed up till 9pm lol. All the kids were good in fact, apart from when they started throwing rocks in the beer-garden pond... The weather held which was a bonus.

On a personal note, some relatives came up from London who I've not seen for a few weeks (pre-diet) and I got some nice compliments :D
