Jot

jo'stime
Well i have lost 5 1/2 :D:D pounds this week and i am happy with that, I have eaten loads and enjoyed my food.

From about tuesday my appetite has been much more stable were i am not wanting to keep on eating, even when i am not hungry, I hope this remains the same on this journey.

Must admit, i had cramp in my legs yesterday, been ok today.

Well done Jot. I'm really pleased for you (and a tad jealous if I'm being completely honest).

Take that feeling you have right now and keep it up for next week!

Congrats! :)

As for the cramp, you might need to increase salt intake ever so slightly also make sure you are getting plenty of fluids down the hatch.

The Atkins diet consists of what I call "clean" food. Meat, veg, eggs etc. and not processed foods such as low fat microwave meals which are crammed with salt, so your body might not yet be used to the reduced levels of salt.

Dont go mad with the salt mind, as it can encourage water retention.

great stuff and yes, if you're drinking the water then you will be leaching salt so top it up a bit. :)

Awesome loss! Well done :bliss:

Well done!!

Thank you all for your support, I have just made some yummy mushroom soup, Had the recipe of the atkins homepage.

Yeah that cramping in my legs was strange last night but my body must be in shock due to the lack of sugar.

Jo,

why don't you join the weekly weigh in thread, that way you can share your weightloss journey with others. :)

You'll find it about 3/3 of the way down the index page, under other diet options/ atkins diet love. :)

and lot's of other good threads as well.

Well done Jo! You must feel fantastic. Do your clothes feel looser?

I used to get leg cramps in the night when I first started Induction. I take a potassium supplement tablet now and that's seen them off, you can get them in Holland & Barrett. You can also add potassium to your diet with Lo Salt, the reduced sodium stuff which you can get in the supermarket.

Hi ladymarmalade,

Yes i am chuffed to bits, but i think having a couple of atkins bars and a few bags of Mr porky's scratchings have also been useful when you want something else other that meat, veg and salad on a plate.
Being organised has been a plus this time, when i have tried atkins in the past i used to have a dollop of mayo and a piece of meat and you do get bored of it. I have used the atkins meal planner to make soups and all sort.
Tried to be inventive with my salads to.

So this is day eight for me and I have to say i have not felt this good physically and mentally (brainfog) if you know what i mean.:D:D

congrats jot.. keep up the good work

Yes the diet has that effect on me too! I especially notice it at work after lunch, I don't get that post-lunch slump I used to get when I could hardly keep my eyes open and just wanted a siesta...

I've found using lots of herbs and spices and flavourings and properly marinading meat beforehand really brings a lot more variety to the diet and stops it getting boring.
