Star Week?

I have noticed a few of you mentioning people having a "star week"?

What does that mean  sorry... I am doing slimming world at home so have never heard it before!! x

Its just when you have your periods. It gives you the chance to allow for it as we all know we get heavier around that time.

It's that time of the month for us ladies and our bodies usually retain water that week so we weigh a little heavier.

Aha I kept reading this everywhere and was so confused! As I've not joined a slimming world group yet I thought it was just some special slimming week! :p Thanks for the information though :)

It makes me laugh that they term it star week. I presume that this is so that if you are in group you are less embarrassed when giving a reason for a lower loss or a gain? I always feel cringey when people say it and would just prefer if they came out and said what it is! After all we're all human beings and I'm pretty sure that even men know what happens to us ladies once a month! :) And I can certainly tell you I feel no where near star-like during my monthly period!! Haha!

I have it on good authority(from the very same question I asked) that when the consultants worked by paper where there was a gain/maintain (usually the week of your period), these were marked by an asterisk so this became known as * week - or star week. Now they work on PDA's instead of paper but they still mark these weeks with the *

Every day's a school day :D

My star week is ovulation, that's when I gain most water (also I get super-hungry just before it).
I don't mention mine at all though. I feel silly saying 'star week' - would rather just say 'hormones' or 'period' (or 'time of the month' for ovulation) which is more adult. But because everyone else says star week, I would feel like I was going to gross everyone out if I said anything else!
