Is anyone following Paul McKenna?

I have been doing this for 5 days now, and tbh, have not noticed that much of a difference. I am following the 4 golden rules, and eating slowly, stopping when I am full, etc, but am wondering if it takes time for your body to acclimatise, and realise that it is not being starved, and that if it needs food, it will get food.

I have been on the "Dieting roundabout" for 3 years, trying everything you can think of, and to be honest, I love food too much to make it the be all and end all of my life. I needed to find something that would fit into my life, not let food control me, not make my kids afraid of food and let me lose weight, all at the same time. I thought I had found it with Paul McKenna, but I feel bigger than ever.

Does it take time to start working or am I set up to be a fat failure forever?

Hello,

I bought the Paul McKenna book which came with a disc.

Im sure it would work with time, but I suppose it could work for some and not for all.

Keep at it abit longer and maybe review it in a few weeks?

Good luck with it

x

Hi Natty
I love the idea of Paul McKenna's diet and it does sound very sensible. I also loved his cd as it gave me a good nights sleep. However, could not stick with it. I think, like everything else, you have to work at it. I have a friend who followed it and lost over 2 stone. She swears by it, so don't give up.

Just keep at it, and stick to the 4 golden rules. I'm on week 2 today and i feel like it's working, weighed myself this morning, i know i should wait untill 2wks but couldn't resist as i normally weigh weekly, i've lost 3 lbs i the first week although i can see it yet it seems to be working so i'm going to stick with it.

i have the cd's and haven't started yet. i also heard from a friend that someone had been hypnotised into thinking they had a gastric band fitted with great results!!!

anyone heard of this? Will post a main thread as well about it!

Hello, glad to find other 'Paul McKennas' on here! I am new to the site.

I did this method a few years ago and it was like a miracle for me. The weight came off and it stayed off (although I have gradually slipped and am no longer following the rules - hence I am here I need to get started again.)

I followed it from 4 tv episodes when I did it, this time I have the book, cds and also a diary to complete. I just need to get myself into gear and start following the rules again.

My big problems are leaving food on the plate, and emotional eating. I got on top of it last time and I am annoyed for letting myself go back to my old ways.

keep us posted on how you are doing! Very interesting to read.

I also think it is sooo logical but I am the same, emotional eating!!!! especially when I'm pi**ed off with OH!!

I am tending to eat less automatically, not stuffing myself till i am full and am going to start the cd's this week, need to make
ME time and just get on with it .

Well I was very motivated when I came off here and started to read my book, but its been a struggle to start with. I may finish reading the book before I start keeping the journal, that way its all fresh in my head.

Mind you, today we had breakfast out and I left some on the plate, although didnt quite stop when I was full ha ha! Thats the tough bit... I havent listened to the cds yet, I must start trying to do that each day.

Hi there. Did you use the tapping technique? The back of the book quotes a 70% sucess rate, unfortunately I'm in the 30% lol.

ETA: I still listen to the cd often and it's pretty relaxing.

Ha ha, yes I tried tapping but I didnt get on with it either. Apart from anything else you feel such a fool doing it!

I find the cd's relaxing too, I still havent got into a routine of listening to them every day though. I really ought to I find they do help.
