About 11 stone to lose. Help!

Hey everyone.
I started my weight loss journey 3 weeks ago today and so far have lost 1 stone.

My start weight was 21st 6lbs. My goal weight is 10 stone as according to all the weight charts,a healthy weight for my height is between 9 and 10 stone.
I never thought I would end up this big. The last few years have been the worst (Im not gonna break out into a sob story here so dont worry!) and my self-confidence is at an all time low.
So I know that this time I need to shift this weight.
Im just eating healthy and going to the gym 4 times a week.

I guess being here will help as everyone seems so supportive and encouraging.

If anyone has the same ammount to lose or has lost as much as I need to then maybe we could chat. I would really like a few friends to talk to on my journey.
I have so much to talk about and questions to ask but I dont have any friends who are big let alone as big as me. So if I try and talk about my weight or diet stuff with them they kinda get bored!

Anywho enough rambling from me.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Claire,

My stats are similar to yours. I've been posting here for about a month, but I've been trying to shrink myself now for nearly 3 months. I think I've lost about 3 stone in total (I've gone from a size 26 to a 20/22, but I've only been weighing myself since I started posting here. I was too scared of the scales to actually look at them and acknowledge how bad things had got, but this forum has been wonderful and has given me the courage to face up to the problem and to try to take steps to change things. Everyone here has been really supportive, and it definitely helps to be able to talk to people in a similar situation - all of my friends are slim, I've always been the biggest person everywhere I go. I want to change that. I know it wont happen quickly and it wont be easy but I'll get there. I don't see this as a quick fix - I want to change my life for good, I couldn't go on the way things were.

Hi Claire - welcome!

You will find this is a fantastic site. I used to use another message board but once I found this one I didn't look back - the support here is second to none.

I am in the same situation as you so if you ever want to chat or get something off your chest I will listen! I know how hard it is.

One thing I would suggest..I actually ended up having CBT for various reasons but during it we looked at my emotional eating. I wouldn't say I am cured as I don't think its something u ever would get rid of completely but I def have a handle on it now! Plus it really boosted my confidence and self esteem. So that might be something to think about?

I will look out for you on the site and will send good luck wishes your way :vibes::vibes:

Hi all dont think of it as a mountain set your selves smaller goals that are more do able in a shorter time .I lost more than I ever imagained possible by doing it in bite size chuncks .We didnt get to this size over night and so lossing it is going to take a little time .I used to reward my self for getting to certain points in my journey nails done clothes shopping handbag nice things .There is a chart (think its a sticky on the cambridge diet )you can use to chart your journey tells u how much you have lost works out ur bmi and gives you a date that it predicts u will reach ur goal .Good luck all xxx

sticky is called Graph or Spreadsheet on cambridge diet forum it is a great tool to play with lol

Hi Claire

If you want some support we can chat anytime. As you can see from my stats I have aload of weight to lose. 17 weeks later I am still plodding on and feeling so much better for it.

You just need to take it one day at a time or hour by hour, but you will get there with determination and a few times more than likely on the way.
