uhh! It sounds like such an old people thing but I've had one as long as I can remember! I know they're genetic and I've got mine from my dad- thanks dad!!

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of having them removed? Its on my calf, doesn't cause me any problems other than its really ugly! My plan was to maintain goal for a while then ask the GP about it.

I'm pretty sure my sister had one removed, I think! I can ask her about it if you have any specific questions. x

yeah just, how was it getting it removed? painful afterwards? overnight stay in hospital?

Thanks

I have had veins removed twice and would go in again if I needed to as I really can't remember too much pain. They leave tiny cuts along your leg up to your groin - a bit of bruising though for the first couple of weeks and I have been left with a couple of numb patches on my thigh. Nowadays it's fairly routine (although probably still a general anaesthetic) and a quick stay in hospital. No worries - if the doc recommends it - go for it!

Thanks boardwitless-I'll get my weight down & go see about it-then I'll be able to get my legs out next summer!

Hiya

I had the exact same one as you, on my left leg. I've had a few different surgeries and this was was the easiest. Mine was causing me a lot of pain and I couldn't walk for very long. Honestly the incision on the groin was the worse part
