i was given the syn free bbq sauce other day and thinking of doing ontop of chicken fillets with potatoe wedges one day next week but can anyone tell me if they have tried the sauce and if it is nice please???

here is the recipe for ya hun. i was silly i should have tried it on the taster sesion oh well i going to take the punt and do it next week on chicken fillets or mabe do a chicken new yorker with it, women who gave me the recipe said it lovely but ofcourse i asked in here as it was only on one persons say so.

BBQ sauce recipe

you will need
1 onion, peeled and roughly chopped
1 tsp mild chilli powder
227ml/8fl oz passata
3 tbsp artifical sweetner
4 tbsp balsamaic vinegar
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp mustard powder
salt and freshly ground blacke pepper.

balslmic vingar and worchestershire sauce provide the basis for this great tasting bbq sauce thsat is perfect for a dip, basting a chicken thighs or vegetable kebabs before a bbq, lady who gave me this recipe said she has them on spare ribs and cooks them in the oven so she has bbq spare ribs.

spray a pan with fry light and saute the onion and chilli powder over a low heat for 5 minutes until softened.

stir in the remaining ingrredients, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes untill thickened. check the seasoning before serving hot or cold.

syn free on both days ready in 20 minutes serves 4 and freezer friendly.

i was told in the sauce recipe book there is a syn free tomatoe ketchup in the book and very low sweet and sour sauce im gonna try and get on on tuesday.

Can't remember seeing syn free ketchup in the sauce book, but there is one in one of the mags from last year, people who tried it said it was nice, but not being a huge fan of ketchup I thought it was a little fiddly....now if it was syn free chocolate, I'd happily fiddle around with it all day!!

The bbq sauce is quite easy & really tasty, didn't taste like a SW substitute at all, I can also recommend the curry sauce aswell....really yum on SW Chips!
