On a journey !
I put a question on another thread asking how many syns are in a packet of colemans chilli mix but haven't had an answer yet and I'm going out to get the stuff for tea in a bit......... does anyone know? xxx

I can't find colemans on the SW website, but I have found the Schwartz chilli mix, its 6 syns. HTH?!
 
Don't use a packet mix - waste of syns!!

Cook some onion, garlic and chilli in frylight (i use lazy chilli, a couple of quid and lasts for ever!) add your mince and a tin of tomatoes and kidney beans and there you go. chilli for free!!!
 
I had the Schwatz mix last night. 6 syns for the packet but split 3 ways (in our house anyway) and it's only 2. I use the packets cos it's one of the few things that the OH can cook and get right so it's waiting for me when I get home.
 
Well if the OH is cooking I'd make the most of it!! There's only one cook in our house and that's little old me! I'd love for him to cook tea one night but it's so not gonna happen....

It's about the only thing he will cook and that's only because he loves Chilli.

I've been told to get the Scwartz one from now on as he prefers it to Colmans and I've just discovered it has less syns too....lol.
 
Ive never used a mix before, just use mince, peppers, kidney beans in chilli sauce, passata with onion & garlic then add some paprika, crushed chilli's and hot chilli powder. Serve with boiled rice, as far as I know these are all syn free and its my favourite meal ever! Lol

The other half isn't a fan of plain rice so he has the naughty version and likes to have his on a bed of doritos with cheese on top.

Oh god I love it with nachos. But they are so very baaaad!!!! :cry: I like to have half rice and half nachos, but I just stick to plain boiled rice these days :(
 
I make mine with a bag of quorn mince and the smallest packet of lean steak mince and tbh you cant tell its quorn really! I'm also a fan of passata in mine and lots of peppers and mushrooms yum! Usually make a huge batch and freeze portions for when we need a quick dinner.

And yes I can sympathise with the 'men cooking' bit, the only person to venture near the oven is me! x
