Carbohydrates

Mia

Skinny girl in a fat body
I have nearly always followed a low fat diet. I still always read the back of a product and look for things which are under 4g of fat per 100g.

I have bought the Calorie, Carb and Fat Bible 2009 (I think it was wellandgood who recommended it, I can't remember), and would like to know what I am looking for.

When reading the info of a product do you look for a certain amount of carbs per 100g? Can anyone help me so I know what I am looking for?

i think medically, your body is happy with 2g of carbs for each 1lb of weight if your maintaining....but if your still trying to lose, you need to do about 1.5g....
i think as long as you weigh things for a while, you should be able to add up a total amount over the day....
This came from my gym instructor and it was then confirmed by the Dr....
oh, and if you eat protein at the same time as carbs, apparently it helps the carbs digest more effectively....again, confirmed by the dr!
Hope that helps hun

Thanks for that.

So, is there no guide like there is for fat - like you look for 4g or under per 100g? This would be easier to look for wouldn't it?
